Black Vulcanite Sign New Management Deal

Still on a high after scooping the Best Music Video Namibian Annual Music Award (NAMA) for their track 'Big Egos', Black Vulcanite have recently signed a brand new management deal.

The trio, made up of Mark Mushiva, Alain 'AliThatDude' Villet and Nikolai 'Okin' Tjongarero, have previously been represented by Leneave Hansen of Rude World Records, and are now signed to Cape Town-based The Moon Rises (TMR) Productions. TMR Productions, a publication and multimedia hub, will be handling Black Vulcanite's artist management, eventing and multimedia publication, while Ashante Manetti of Duchess Distinctive will be heading up the Namibian side of their management. Having parted ways with South African record label Rude World Records, this new deal with TMR Productions means that Black Vulcanite will now own the recording and publication rights of their music. “We learnt a lot from our time with Rude World, especially the importance of working with people who have a genuine interest in our music. Rude World believed in and supported our aspirations and our new venture simply means spreading the wings they have given us and flying. “We needed more leg room and this is exactly what this deal gives us,” Mushiva said. “This deal comes at a time when Black Vulcanite is looking at rightfully cementing a place in the continental and world hip-hop/pop music scene,” Sibusiso Mnyanda of TMR Productions said. Having released their debut project 'Remember the Future' EP in 2013, Black Vulcanite have left fans waiting with bated breath for almost too long for the release of their album. This wait, however, is almost over. The highly anticipated (though yet to be titled) album is due for release in September. “Produced by Swiss-based Maloon The Boom, a single with a music video will be the harbinger of the new album,” Mnyanda said. With TMR Productions lining up promotional events and cameo appearances in South Africa to promote the upcoming album, Namibian fans can look forward to a promotional tour in the last leg of the year. The tour will start in Johannesburg, move on to Cape Town and end back home in Windhoek. What can fans look forward to on this new album? A collaboration with a South African hip-hop heavyweight, says a tight-lipped Mushiva. “The NAMA win was a small but necessary victory owed completely to our fans who continue to strong-arm corporates into paying attention to us. Winning Best Music Video proves that the fans continue to carry Black Vulcanite. It really makes us feel like the most loved hip-hop group rather than winners of a Best Music Video award. “We're more confident now that our Namibian and South African fans want Black Vulcanite to grow, all we can strive for now is to continue to supply the kind of quality hip-hop they expect from us,” Mushiva concluded.
